Since my Quarter 3 post I took out the background of Florida in the table of contents, and replaced it with a picture of a kicker practicing his field goals. I also added to my article, and croped the picture that remained on page 4.

CCR 3
Throughout the project, I developed my production skills. I picked the magazine for my project because I am fairly good at digital design, and I enjoy reading magazines. My love of sports also played into me choosing a magazine, since I could model it after Sports Illustrated. In the program publisher, I learned how to effectively use Microsoft Publisher to develop and create a magazine from scratch.
I also learned about how to take pictures to create specific effects. The cover picture is meant to showcase the main athlete, so I had a picture of only him on a contrasting background so that he pops. I also used low angle picture of people working out to give a sense of power to the subjects.

CCR 4
I developed skills such as the use of Microsoft Publisher. I had never used this program before this year, and as i went through making this magazine I progressively got better at the program.
I also got to use an Iphone camera for my pictures in the magazine. I was able to use several features like the brightness adjuster that I did not know about.
I also used Google Blogger to create my posts. This enabled me to share my journey of making my magazine with people on the internet. Instagram also helped me leverage the internet to showcase my magazine. I made a page for my magazine to promote it.
The computers that I used for design are an HP Elitebook and a Macbook.

CCR 2 draft
My product engages with audiences by bringing a different type of magazine to the state of Florida. My magazine focuses exclusivly on the state of Florida, which allows us to deeply cultivate an audience of sports players and fans in the state of Florida, which is one of, if not the most, sports crazy state in America. This focus also allows us to look at more sports at the high school level, which is different from any magazine on the market. This gives the kids a chance to keep up with theams that aren't in their area, while also allowing college coaches to learn more about these teams and players in one sit down, rather than going on their on dollar.
For my magazine I would combine both traditional and online distribution. I would hire a distribution agency to distribute my magazine in print to counties in Florida. They would then give it to schools to pass out for athlete's or anyone else that wants to read it. I also would have subscriptions delivered to houses if you buy it personally.
On the online side, I would have a website that carried all of my articles. After reading 3 articles in a month, then that person would have to buy a subscription to my magazine. I would promote this through my social media pages on Twitter and Instagram.

The product that I created, Florida Sports Magazine, uses conventions in the font type. The font that was used in my magazine is consistent with the type of font that is used in magazines such as Sports Illustrated, ESPN the Magazine, and SLAM Magazine, being blocky and easy to read. The cover uses a photo of my main person in the article, Vincent Parisi, and makes him the focus of the readers attention. I went with the orange and black font to match my cover subjects team, as most sports magazines do. I then placed the smaller articles titles around the picture to further highlight Parisi.
In my table of contents I really stayed by the book and simple, by using the same font color and type as the cover, a block font that is easy to read. I overlayed the table of contents onto the state of Florida, with the same theme color as the rest of the magazine. I kept the font the same as in the cover portion of the magazine, which again makes it easy to read for my target audience of high schoolers.
In the article pages I put a big header as my title, to catch the eyes of the reader immediately. I also wanted to highlight my pictures on the page, so I put a shadow picture effect in the background to make them stand out which is common in most magazines. The text i used in my article is black on a white background to make for an easy read. My columns are traditionally spaced in two separate blocks, with the pictures to separate them on one, and one column and pictures on the other side for the other. These create a natural flow of reading, and also tie the pictures into the article.

Picture backgrounds
I decided to include a shadow to my picture backgrounds to add effect on the magazine, which I saw in the similar magazines that I researched, such as Sorts Illustrated and ESPN the Magazine.
